The fist set of three shelves I made are now used in my kitchen. Because I have implemented 4 power-points in the middle shelf I am able to use the appliances.
The Selves are fitted with halogen lights and a dimmer. This way the lights are used for ambient lighting as well as functional lighting.
In this picture you can see the three shelves as well as another storage project above it.
Because I liked the shelves in my kitchen I made a new set to be used as book shelves. This time I improved the shelves a little. The previous set had only two Hooks to fix the shelves to the wall. This is because there are only two cross bones inside the shelves. In the second set I made three cross bones so these are more tighten to the wall, are stronger and can hold more weight. A disadvantage is that the installing of the shelves needs more precision.
Because there are three cross bones inside the shelves there is only space for two lights in each shelves, instead of three in the previous set. Personally I like this more, because when two shelves are next to each other the spacing between all the lights is the same.
