speaker
This is a project I did many years ago (1997).
I wanted to make my own speakers but didn't have much budget. Therefore I had to use the available MDF.

The form of the speaker is like this for several reasons:
  • Limited by amount of material
  • Volume needed for speakers
  • Size of the speakers
  • Front view outlines (I made some little sketches)

I had made a nice cover for this speaker but when moving it from Utrecht to Delft one of the two broke. The interior of the speaker is made in such a way that there are two separate volumes, one for the woofer and one for the center speaker and tweeter (which is closed of by its own cover). david van prooijen speaker support 3
The speakers weigh about 10-15 kilo's each and because of their form they are hard to lift. That's why I made two handles in the sides for easy lifting. The final product is better than I thought it would be. The sound produced is reasonable, especially when you take in mind that the total cost per speaker is about 20-30 Euros'.
I still use these speakers, not as the primary but as rear speakers.
